Anybody practice Reiki?
I'm level II, been so for a couple of months. Mainly use it on myself, because I'm healing from illness right now. If anybody lives close to Springfield VA, we get together twice a month for Reiki share (to work on each other). I know Freedom angel practices, but anybody else here step forward and say hi to me.

1. I'm a Reiki level II as well
:hi: Getting a Reiki attunement was the best thing that ever happened to me.

2. No, but I'd like to!
What are classes like? I'm wondering if it's something ANYONE can learn or if it takes a particularly intuitive, fine-tuned sensitivity? There sure seem to be a lot of practitioners, and I really don't know how to distinguish their skill level.

7. Anyone can learn it
The class is an attunement process as well as instruction on how to give treatments etc. It is a wonderful healing gift to give yourself and to share with others.

15. There are alot of fakes, Dover
I was lucky and found a very in tune, awesome lady to mentor me. There are others who don't know what they're doin though. You may have to ask around alternative health circles a bit to find the real masters. Good luck though! I know It's the best thing I've ever done for myself :D

4. hi oxbow.... I sort of incorporate it into my work
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 09:43 AM by Desertrose
first initiated back in '90 ...am level II now but mostly use it in my art. (sounds wierd but have had it commented on a few times.) Was really great when I was doing jewelry....basically just adds the energy to the piece as its created.

As Spiralhawk said...good stuff.

Another great tool is Bowen...a bit different than Reiki which is mostly energy work, Bowen is more physical but much more subtle than chiropractic or massage even. ....and the body remembers Bowen so you need less rather than more as the treatment progresses.

6. Interesting... my chiropractor was just telling me about Bowen
the other day. He said that he would like to try it on my back as I have some sort of a chi block happening. I'd never heard of it before. I love coincidences like this.

I just did my Reiki Master level and have been basking in the increased energy. I use Reiki on my animals, husband, car, plants, food and water. I use it for manifesting, and for distance healings. I also do stained glass work and have lately been making antahkaranas which is a healing symbol but not one of the "secret" ones.

8. I love Bowen and my practitioner is really good
Edited on Thu Jun-30-05 11:57 PM by Desertrose
...very intuitive with her touch.

The more Bowen you get the less you need. I am amazed how my body remembered after an absence of many months when I was unable to get treatment. I thought it would take a lot of treatments to get caught up but after about two I was good again!!

(I used to do stained glass too!!)

on edit- months not moths. argghhh

10. I will definitely have him try it on me then
I've had this back problem for probably close to 20 years and I would dearly love to get rid of it. I know that there is an important issue there that I haven't been able to identify (or face...?) yet because something will work for a short time but then the pain soon comes back again.

11. I have seen Bowen work for chronic problems
a friend had a curved spine and never stood straight...this was about a year or two ago. Today he stands taller and straighter than ever and is almost pain free!

I've had great results with Bowen ..it really helps keep me able to do my work. Started with a bhand brace for carpal tunnel and after teh first reatment I didn't ned the brace :) Hasns't been a problem since. I do a lot of handcutting leather fringe so I can't afford pain!

Good luck!!

12. Thank you, I'll let you know how it goes
My chiropractor is a really interesting guy and definitely the best I've ever used. He took over from my old one who I'd been seeing for 15 years and loved and trusted although I realize now that he was only maintaining and not fixing problems. At any rate, I was really apprehensive about seeing someone new and very nearly looked for one closer to home. But through an error in booking because I thought that the old one was in that day, I thankfully did see him. The very first visit, he fixed a pain that I'd had in my hip joint for months and I hadn't even mentioned it to him. He does some kind of muscle work, (I forget the name of it) and its wonderfully effective. I also caught him out doing Reiki on me, I could feel the heat in his hands.

14. Does he do craniosacral work?
I've found that reiki and cs therapy have alot in common. A medical intuitive told me that the best thing for me right now is craniosacral therapy, and i feel so much more integrated after a few weeks of treatment.

16. I don't know.
I'll check though, he seems to do a lot of different things. Is that where they adjust your skull? I do have some tender spots on my head.

17. Yes,, the cranium is your head. Sacrum is your tailbone
a cs therapist works everywhere in between. Most therapists do some amount of CS work by default, but some people specialize in it. It's really powerful stuff when they do!

13. That's so cool

How do you do it? Do you ground and center yourself before you start working and then just work on the object as if it's a person? I am an artist too and am definitely interested in working from that place.

5. With me
I just knew how to do it when I began. I don't know what level I am but I know it's effective. I've had a few incidents that have worked.
