May I get some healing for a painful tooth?
I am to get a root canal on a molar tomorrow afternoon and that will take care of it once and for all. However, it keeps giving me this very sharp pain and is extremely sensitive to temperature and pressure. It's not constant, but is keeping me on edge, waiting for the next bout of pain. As I am at work, I can't take the vicodin they prescribed for me (it will put me to sleep and that's not so good for having to drive home) and the over-the-counter stuff isn't doing much but helping me get more water into my system.

So, any healing y'all can spare would be wonderful!

2. Technically, I've been waiting over a week
but it's only been painful like this for the last few days. There's a temporary filling in it as the dentist had planned on cleaning it out and putting a crown on it. The decay was too much, so I have to go to an endodontist for the root canal.

Thank you for the healing. I'm listening to Jonathon Goldman's Chakra Chants 2 at the moment to help out, relax me some.

7. Unfortunately, I can't chew on that tooth at all.
It is extremely sensitive to pressure. I may have some clove oil at home tho, or I can get it :)

Oh, I just looked through the teas I keep here in my desk. I have some Roobios Chai, so that includes cloves (plus allpsice, ginger, cardamom, nutmge and cinnamon.)

Also, y'all are sending some powerful healing because it hasn't spiked on me at all in the last hour. I do have some ibuprophen in me, but I know from experience it has little effect.

Thanks y'all!

9. How about salt water?
Lukewarm water with a teaspoon of salt. Gently rinse your mouth with it. It usually helps me.

Healing blessings to you

10. I'll try that, though nothing is exposed.
This is the root inside of the tooth. My dentist had intended to simply remove the old mercury filling and replace it with either a crown or ceramic (Cerec) but the decay was too far gone. So, a temp-filling went in until I can get the root-canal done tomorrow. I just didn't think it would slowly get worse like this since she never exposed the root to the filling.

One thing I hate is when I forget to not chew on that side of my mouth and quickly find out why I should remember that ;)

12. Okay, it's done and over with
other than the soreness of the jaw. Got meds for that, too! :P

I want to thank you all for the healing energy and thoughts. I know it helped

The endodontist was the friendliest and most professional dental physician I've met, too. I asked his assistant later and she said that all they did was root canals, so it's nice to be worked on by a specialist. I was in and out of the chair in about an hour and a half. Still, he did have to deaden my nerves multiple times. He even pointed out on the x-ray that mine were unusually large. Figures!

So there you have it. I still have to go back to my regular dentist for the crown or Cerec, whichever form of replacement she determines. At least that one I can put on a payment plan

Congrats! :applause: Enjoy the meds! (Mr. MG used to get kidney stones, and he adored his precious, precious Vicodin...)

16. I had been thinking about you, I know ALL too well what that feels like
I had three root canals last fall. I'm on a payment plan as well, except I don't have any money to continue with finishing the work. Hopefully my teeth will last until I get more money.

One good thing about my visits is I get to use Nitrous Oxide.

I'm glad everything went alright for you
