Lunar Cycle Fertility!

Anyone intimately familiar with this? Anyone used it successfully? This intrigues me. :-)

1. I'd be worried about its reliability.

I've never tried it. But if I found myself wanting birth control without using pharmaceutical hormones, I'd do some more reading about Wild Carrot seed (Queen Anne's Lace seed) or Wild Yam.

4. One of my three midwives taught a class just before I met her.

The class was called Fertility Awareness. All of those midwives had 3 or 4 kids already and they were looking for an alternative to conventional approaches to birth control.

The premise of the class was that fertility cycles peak when the phase of the Moon under which one was born reoccurs in the sky.

When I heard of this my original thought was that if one was still virginal, never changed time zones, never worked erratic hours, and never had a traumatic relationship, it might just work. That was not true of any of those women.

Five of the Six women in the class became pregnant within three to Six months as did the instructor.

That was hardly their intention.

So go figure.
