Lunar eclipses make my stomach hurt! |
|
In addition to mysterious stomach cramps that appeared yesterday and seem to have peaked in the wee hours this morning, I'm assuming what I'm about to describe is effects from the summer's "eclipse sandwich"?
To sum up - partner and I have been living in this town for three years, and for the last 2 1/2 have been working at the same institute of higher ed. Partner was hired for a job, but then was unexpectedly bumped up to a supervisory position, and I was hired to fill the gaps with the original job he was hired for.
Partner doesn't really like the supervisory aspect, and especially lately has been longing for the "simpler" life of the job he was hired for....but of course, that would mean a pay cut for him, and no guarantee of job continuation for me.
Add to this LOTS of real estate woes, and lots of questionable moral attitudes of his and my superiors, and it has made for a pretty crappy three years.
One month ago the real estate issue was solved (temporarily) with the short sale of our house...still might be faced with some financial repercussions (i.e. bankruptcy) but in the meantime, we are in a splendid new rental which might as well have been custom built for us and our lifestyle.
YESTERDAY, after three years of fighting against the general path our lives were taking, partner came home after a meeting with his boss, and basically laid out a plan (initiated by his boss) which would give me some job security, him more creative freedom, and both of us a raise.
Neither one of us is yet sure whether this is what we WANT or SHOULD be doing, but.....those are pretty strong signs, no?

1. Boss must really want to keep both you and partner happy and |
|
not lose you to other employment. Sounds like he/she is trying to find a way to make you stay, but it will be up to you and your partner to make those decisions. It would be a dream for some of us (job security, creative freedom AND a raise), but if you feel like you are not in the right place, then maybe you should start looking around.

4. We had SO much trouble with our house |
|
That I'm not sure either of us allowed ourselves to even consider that this COULD be the right fit. I'm thinking that we've had a recent attitude shift that might open us to that possibility, at least....

2. sound like a good outcome fit for the moment. I, too have had bad pains |
|
and digestive issues, lately. Was yesterday or the day before, I started walking one of the dogs and had to come back and lie down. It is one of those esophagus things that shoot to the back and feels like pain in the heart...
