HARMONY, Pa. — An Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps instructor was charged with sexually abusing two boys at the western Pennsylvania school district campus where he worked.
Retired Command Sgt. Maj. Kevin Johnson, 50, of Portersville, is charged with sexually assaulting two boys, who are now 17 and 18, from August 2004 until the mother of one boy reported the allegations last month, police said.
Most of the assaults are alleged to have taken place on the Seneca Valley School District campus, but others occurred at military summer camps at Valley Forge and at Fort Detrick, Md., police said.
Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger said he referred allegations of sexual abuse at the military bases to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Pittsburgh. A spokeswoman for the federal prosecutor confirmed that but could not immediately comment on the progress of the investigation.
