FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. — The Fort Campbell Army post is looking for a few good men and women to care for children on base.

Actually, the base’s Child and Youth Services’ department needs to hire at least 150 to 200 people to help ease a waiting list of more than 400 children.

A new child development center is under construction and a couple more are in the in works, and the extra employees are needed to help staff them.

“Our biggest challenge, I think, is not to get the (children), it’s to get the staff,” said Katy Eccles, CYS coordinator.

Eccles thinks the waiting list will be cut by more than half once renovation of some older facilities is finished by May.
