HONOLULU — The Marine Corps says it’s still getting calls and messages about a YouTube video showing a Marine tossing what appears to be a puppy into a ravine.

The spokesman for Marine Corps Base Hawaii says the investigation is continuing to determine the video’s authenticity and to identify the Marines in the video. Officials have condemned the action.

Meanwhile, spokesman Maj. Chris Perrine says thousands of calls and e-mails express outrage over the incident. He says some of the messages target him because he’s been the spokesman over the incident.

A Hawaii-based Marine has been reported as the man who tosses the puppy. But Perrine says investigators continue to talk to a lot of people about the video which has received more than 100,000 views.
