13 hurt in bus crash returning from training

BOISE, Idaho — Thirteen people were injured when an Air Force bus crashed near Bruneau on Thursday evening, according to Mountain Home Air Force Base officials and law enforcement officers.

Three people were airlifted to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, where they were treated and released. Ten others were treated and released at the Mountain Home Air Force Base Hospital.

The right front tire of the bus blew out, said Owyhee County Sheriff’s deputy Russ Turner. That caused the bus to veer off the road and into a culvert, the driver said.

The crash happened on Idaho Highway 51 as the members of the 726th Air Control Squadron were returning to the base from a training exercise.
