Which even Bismark said was coming (I will paraphrase the quote I do not have the exact quote):
"Europe today (He refers the late 1800s Europe) is like four men in a Coach, each with their hand on their pistols, none wants to start the shooting, but all wanting to get off the first shot".
The 1890-1914 ear is just one of complete disaster waiting to happen, when it did it was more the result of people finding it easier to go to War than to Stop the War (Again another quote from the time period).
