Posted : Tuesday Jun 17, 2008 17:22:17 EDT

Two Marines with 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines have died in Iraq, military officials said Monday.

Lance Cpl. Javier Perales Jr., 19, of San Elizario, Texas, and Lance Cpl. Kelly E. C. Watters, 19, of Virginia Beach, Va., died in Anbar province on June 11.

Perales died in a nonhostile incident and Watters died from wounds suffered while conducting combat operations, according to a Defense Department statement.

Perales’ death remains under investigation, Marine officials said. Both Marines were assigned to Camp Lejeune, N.C.

1. 19 years old. God knows how much Promise "we" are throwing away at a time
in our history when we need every ounce of potential we can muster, not to mention what/who Javier and Kelly were going to be to and for themselves as individuals once they actually had become everything each was going to be.

4. Teenaged men who knew the risks and rewards of joining the military.
Would you be happier if it was 2 marines who were in their late 20's or mid 30's??
