FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Marine corporal charged with killing his Army nurse wife and a second Marine charged with helping him will be in court Tuesday for a hearing.

It will mark the first court appearance of Marine Cpl. John Wimunc, a combat engineer at Camp Lejeune, since the day after his arrest.

Wimunc is charged with murder, arson and felony conspiracy in the death of 2nd Lt. Holley Wimunc, a maternity ward nurse at Fort Bragg’s Womack Army Medical Center.

Authorities found the 24-year-old’s body in a wooded area near Camp Lejeune three days after a suspicious fire at her Fayetteville apartment.

Marine Lance Cpl. Kyle Alden, who’s accused of helping with the crime, is expected to make a court appearance later Tuesday.
