Question about question on NY state ballots about veteran civil service points |
|
I think this proposed update for veterans' qualification for civil service preferences (certified as disabled, not getting disability benefits) looks like a positive that would help more veterans - am I missing anything? http://www.elections.state.ny.us/NYSBOE/Elections/2008/General/2008BallotPropCertification.pdf

I just read through the amendment and it looks like it's eliminating some red tape for the veterans. That's a good thing. Thanks for posting this. I didn't know it was on tomorrow's ballot.

on ballots a few years ago. It's not hard to read this sitting at home, but to try to read the info only in the booth  - I'm always afraid ballot initiatives are from narrow interests, but this looks totally reasonable.
