LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Veterans who served during the Cold War could get a specialty license plate under legislation being backed by an Arkansas lawmaker.
Sen.-elect Johnny Key,
R-Mountain Home, filed legislation on Wednesday that would allow the state to issue the plates to Cold War veterans. The plates would be allowed for any current or former member of the armed forces who has received a Cold War Recognition Certificate from the Defense Department.
The state already issues several types of specialty plates for veterans, such as ones honoring World War II veterans and ones honoring Purple Heart recipients.
