SEATTLE — The Army says other soldiers in a Fort Lewis unit tipped police to two soldiers suspected of pistol-whipping victims during a robbery in Seattle.

The suspects were arrested Tuesday on the post following an investigation by the Army Criminal Investigation Division and Seattle police. They were booked into the King County Jail for investigation of robbery and assault.

Fort Lewis identified them Wednesday as 19-year-old Chad A. Braden of Etna, Ohio, and 20-year-old Robert E. Lucas of Murfreesboro, Tenn. Both are members of the 4th Stryker brigade. Braden is an Iraq combat veteran. Lucas has not been deployed.

In the robbery in the early morning of Jan. 17, two men assaulted three University of Washington students on a street north of campus.
