GENEVA, Ala. — A Fort Rucker soldier faces a misdemeanor animal cruelty charge after he was accused of shooting a dog in the face.

The Geneva County Sheriff’s office said the canine had to be euthanized because of the injury.

Warrant Officer Henry Bradley Wilson, 35, of Enterprise was released on $500 bond after he surrendered to sheriff’s deputies Friday.

Wilson shot the dog Jan. 8, police said.

Deputies said they acted on a complaint filed by the dog’s owner.
