Two sailors were injured Tuesday when an MH-60S Seahawk helicopter made a hard landing about 17 miles southeast of Naval Air Station Fallon, Nev., Navy officials said.

The injuries were minor and both crew members were treated and released from a local hospital several hours later, said Chief Mass Communications Specialist (SW/AW) Jeffrey Wells, a spokesman for the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center.

The helicopter struck a power line and rolled over, according to the Naval Safety Center. The aircraft was destroyed, according to the Naval Safety Center’s Web site.

The two injured crew members were among the five on board the aircraft, which was conducting a routine training mission, Wells said.

The Navy is investigating what caused of the incident, Wells said.
