European briefs: Gas prices to fall at AAFES stations in Europe

Fuel prices will fall between 4 and 5 cents a gallon at most Army and Air Force Exchange Service stations throughout Europe.

Regular unleaded will fall 5.5 cents a gallon in Germany. Midgrade unleaded will drop 5.1 cents a gallon in Germany and the United Kingdom.

The biggest drops will occur in the Netherlands, where midgrade and premium unleaded will drop 15.8 cents a gallon.

In Italy, March fuel coupon prices remain unchanged from the February prices. A 100-liter booklet of unleaded gas coupons costs $76, and a 100-liter of diesel sells for $91, said Bart Di Muccio, administrator of the Tax-Free Office in Naples, which runs the gas coupon program in Italy.

The prices translate to $2.87 a gallon for unleaded and $3.44 a gallon for diesel.
