Minority women dying in disproportionate numbers in War
Six of the last seven female deaths in Iraq have been minorities. The number will rise higher as the Republican military arm, the private military corporations recruit from Africa and Central America.

2. Thus far 107 women have died
in this war. A large percentage of them are minorities. The first one was an American Indian.

As I wrote, six of the last seven appear to be minorities.

(As you read into my post, I too read into yours, Your user name is napi21" which may mean that you are an Imus namesake.)

3. Noooo! No Imus fan here! Napi is a nickname for my little dog
Napoleon. He's a 17 pound Bichon who thinks he a BIG BRAVE BOY who can lick ANYTHING TO DEATH!

Sorry I wasn't clear on what your post meant, and I'm so very skeptical of numbers and percentages since Shrub purposfully distorts them all, I just wanted to understand what you meant.

To your point, don't you think a large % are minorities because a majority of enlistees are minorities?

5. Recruiters go for the easy mark
Enlistees are usually economically disadvantaged.

Many if not most minorities are economically disadvantaged. Prime targets for the military.

My mistake. I should have balanced my statistic against a base number. That is a classic method of repugs to misuse statistics to spread disinformation.

6. I think minorities make up a greater % of women than men when it comes to casualties. nt

7. Interesting...
According to this report for Congress: http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/natsec/RL32492.pdf table 6 shows that 75.8% of all military deaths between 1980 and 2003 were White.

I would also direct your attention to this article: http://www.heritage.org/Research/NationalSecurity/cda06-09.cfm specifically the section on race in the recruitment numbers of the US military from 2003-2005.

8. Lex, the topic deals with women
I am not comparing the 107 dead women with the 3700 plus total deaths.
I am not comparing the 107 dead women with the dead infantry.

I highlighted the number six out of the last seven female fatalities were or looked to be minorities.

Your URL citations (as a separate question) could be argued as numbers because the military wanted to avoid another viet nam race riot.

Could you imagine a race riot in Iraq.

9. Numbers don't matter, Numbers don't matter....
I'm up on my soapbox making a point... How dare you interrupt me!
Lex pointed out info that refutes what you are saying.

Now here is my question. Why are you trying to make a point about 107 out of over 3700? Are the over 2500 white men who were killed in this war not important to you as well??

10. Analyze the variable to understand the whole
I could have underscored the thirty-nine (39) American Indians who have died in this war.

American Indian or Alaska Native, 24 Army, 0 Air Force, 14 Marines, 1 Navy, 39 TOTAL

1.07% of the 3639

11. I see...
It looks like to me that you just want to use number to make a point that this war, in your opinion is harder on minorities than white males, and ignore the fact that minorities are not killing killed in greater percentages than the rest of the military.

Would you like to go to Iraq to change that?
