A master sergeant at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Ga., was arrested Monday night on charges that he contacted a woman online believing her to be a 15-year-old girl, sent naked photographs of himself and asked the supposed teenage girl to have sex with him, police officials said.

Master Sgt. Michael McNany, 33, was released from jail on $50,000 bond after being charged with electronically furnishing obscene material to a minor, computer pornography, child exploitation and obscene Internet contact with a child, said Col. Duane Sapp, chief investigator with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation began in August after McNany allegedly contacted a woman with Perverted Justice — a group that seeks out Internet sexual predators made famous by Dateline NBC’s series “To Catch A Predator” — and had a sexually inappropriate conversation with her, Sapp said.

Police confiscated a personal computer, laptop, digital cameras and Web camera from McNany’s home for a full forensic examination after he was arrested, Sapp said.

McNany’s grand jury hearing has yet to be scheduled, but Sapp said it will not occur for several months.

Young said the Corps would wait for the results of the criminal investigation before making a decision regarding disciplinary action.

1. Dude, enough with the military bashing...
You post, and post, and post about the military while inspecting them underneath a microscope and holding them to (at least it appears to me) a standard higher than we set for Congress and the general public.

IMO, This is not really a Veterans related topic, this is a General discussion topic.
