RACHAEL L HUGO

112th female death in the War

Spc. Rachael L. Hugo, 24, of Madison, Wis., died Oct. 5 in Bayji, Iraq, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked her unit using an improvised explosive device and small arms fire. She was assigned to the 303rd Military Police Company, 97th Military Police Battalion, 89th Military Police Brigade, U.S. Army Reserve, Jackson, Mich. Release No. 1192-07, October 06, 2007

Madison reservist is killed in Iraq

Combat medic dies in insurgent attack weeks before planned return home. Hugo, who was single, is the daughter of Kermit and Ruth Hugo, who live on the east side of Madison, Wiscobsin. She was a Combat Medic filling in for a Unit in Michigan.

than in any other war the US has been involved in?

It seems to me there have been an inordinately high number of women soldiers killed while serving over in Iraq and Afghanistan during these last 6 years.
