10 soldiers mobilized from N.C. guard unit

In what will be their first mobilization in the anti-terrorism war, 10 soldiers from the North Carolina Army National Guard's 1133rd Well Drillers will receive a sendoff Sunday.

The soldiers have been mobilized to support Operation Enduring Freedom in Djibouti.

The unit's authorized strength is 10, and the soldiers' primary mission is water well drilling for military and humanitarian uses. The unit was formed in 2004.

You do realize that Djibouti is a country on the Horn of Africa, and not in Afghanistan, right?
Seriously though, OEF involves operations in several countries.
I was in Djibouti in 2002 and if anyplace I ever deployed was in need of well diggers, that place was it.
