A USS Shiloh sailor was found guilty on several charges involving sexual acts with a 14-year-old Yokosuka dependent.

Prosecutors in the case confirmed Monday that jury members found Petty Officer 3rd Class Charles Bell guilty last week of sodomy with a minor and indecent acts with a minor.

Bell pleaded guilty to other charges stemming from the March incident when he was found in base housing by the girl’s mother, a petty officer first class.

Bell pushed the mother in order to flee the scene and pleaded guilty to assault and battery, prosecutors said, adding that he also misrepresented the truth in interviews with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and pleaded guilty to making false official statements.

Bell had repeated sexual contact with the teenager after meeting her on MySpace, a social networking site, prosecutors said.
