Really amazing comments. We get accused of "picking and choosing," but doing that is the ONLY way you can discover that magical Lib'rul Jesus of theirs.

My other favorite is "out of context." When you've just been advised that following Jebus means you should HATE your entire family...well, I'm not sure how many contexts you can make up to re-interpret that.

That JeeZus sure was a funny guy. He was apparently capable of plain, straight talk whenever he was running his mouth about Peace And Love And Charity.

But when he starts telling you to hate your family or cut off your own limbs, all of a sudden everything becomes a Deep And Impenetrable Metaphor which belongs in some other mysterious "context."

Isn't it interesting that True Christians(R) seem to strip out the icky parts of the Bible to arrive at their criteria. The better term is Ala Carte Christian. They pick and choose which parts of their religious tome is the Word of God, and which is just a metaphor that you damn atheists are taking out of context.
