Religion is deadly
Religion is deadly.
So many have inflicted horrible deaths to prove their God is the "best" and only way. The Crusades, burning women at the stake, stoning women to death, etc.. The worship of the Hebrew God (Islam, Jewish, Christian) is particularly offensive to me with it's misogynistic viewpoints, writings, and practices by the followers of those religions, based on that God. The Chrisitian religion habitually ignores their Lord's, "Sermon On The Mount" and resorts back to Old Testament justifications for war and the treatment of others.
The shape of this world, and the direction it is headed, leaves me an extremely skeptical agnostic, regarding the single God theory. I totally distrust organized religion. It's easy too, if one is willing to look at history.
I am much more inline with the spirituality of historical writings, I have read, from the Native American culture.

1. It's fundamentalism that is a cancer
although plain old religion isn't the greatest either. It allows people to let someone else do their thinking for them and gives them an easy out for unpleasantness.

2. Yes...
to me religion is just another "avoid pain seek pleasure" outlet.
Something the masses use to try to ignore a guilty conscience. They gather and justify each other so the truly difficult "inner" work can go on being ignored.
