1. Gives new meaning to the phrase 'sweet jesus'.
I like the testamints. Available at the Christian Dollar Store, home of Quality Christian Gifts such as these fine wood crosses. Now only $4.50 a dozen!

2. How amusing...
They take a pagan holiday (Samhain), try to co-opt by calling it "Saints day" (as if there isn't enough of those already) and then mix in a pile of crappy commercialism for 'Religious Candy'.

As for my take on the entire Halloween thing see Foamy's rant on http://www.illwillpress.com/">Halloween Hoopla. We don't have it here despite the best efforts of advertising and kitsch promotions.

We should be serving up roasted Xian babies for Halloween.

:hi:

Over here in non-Xian-Land, folks are hauling tons of food home for a different holiday. Tomorrow is the last day of Ramadan, and Wednesday kicks off the four-day Eid-al-Fitr feast.

We pass thru a lot of little farming villages on the way to our job site, about 60 miles from Alexandria. That ride is like looking into the past. Today we drove by a group of laughing, chatting women carrying large baskets full of food on their heads. The street markets in the towns are getting a lot of business. One woman was doing a great business in fresh baked bread and desserts like khaf. I think that's the right name. Little deadly-but-delicious land mines that are about 99% fat and sugar. :9

I had planned to celebrate the holidays by visiting lots of pagan Roman and Greek historical sites.

Unfortunately, some of my Egyptian co-workers have suggested that I should stay in or close to the hotel on the first day of the feast. Violent clashes between the Coptic Xians and the Muslims have been occurring for about two weeks here. My Egyptian friends are afraid that some lunatics will be looking for any excuse to cause trouble.

Obviously, these aren't REAL Xians and Muslims...;-)

Riddled with hate and lies. And I don't even like Halloween.

10. I thought it was pretty funny. Unintentionally.
I particularly liked the eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil teacher trying to warp kids by getting them to wear pointy hats. And the grotesque revisionism.
