Al Gore.

Yes, I said it-- I dislike our 43rd President. Not for his policy stances. Not for anything most people would think of. I dislike him for...

Not putting Bob Graham on his VP slot in 2000.

I don't know, the choice to me seems really, really obvious. Former governor, sitting Senator, not up for election in 2000, rather popular in the 4th largest state in the electoral college and the largest swing state.

Seriously, who is running for President, who's favored early on, is expected to help a rising star in the Democratic party or at least shine a spotlight on a geographical region that leans close to Democratic... who then wakes up in the morning and says, 'I'm going to choose a conservative, but not just any conservative, a conservative from Connecticut who's up for re-election.'

I just can't wrap my head around it. Sure, he wanted to distance himself from Clinton's scandals, but picking one of the guys who led the charge against him in the Senate is not the way to do it. Maybe if you wanted to show how different you are from Clinton, but do you really want to stand up and shout how different you are from someone who left office with one of the highest approval ratings, ever?

Yeah, I'm like 4 years too late, but I was only 16 at the time and mystified how anyone could take Bush seriously. Well... now I'm 20 and still mystified by that, because Bush is now in office, 'legitimately.'

Anyway, I just needed to vent. I just don't get it. I sort of hope Gore runs in 2008, but then again I'm still in awe of how bad a VP decision he made. Fuck it. There is no god.

1. Nothing wrong with that.
A lot of people will agree with you - myself included. Gore could have picked pretty much ANYBODY other than Lieberman and done better. Graham would have been an excellent choice, and probably would have put us far over the top in Florida where Bush fraud could not have made up the difference.
