BBC "An Act of God?"
On the bbcnews.com website I saw the following article that gives the responses of people of faith and an atheist on how the event of the Tsunami can be put into perspective.

Personally the only ones other than the atheist that came at all close to making sense to me were the Hindu's and the Muslim's. But I didn't like the Muslim acceptance of fate determined by god or the Hindu idea that all the people had "short life" karmas which "caused" the event. And the buddist came across awfully cold, perhaps I would've like what he said better if it had been in person and I could see how it was delivered.

I found the christian's response offensive and self serving.

I found the atheist's response the best but I wish it hadn't been so much about "not religion" and more on how living in reality is what helps. Even though I do like this statement; "Faith in god does not protect people from disasters or give the victims what they need to survive and rebuild their lives."

I don't know who each of these people are, I didn't have time to look them up, so maybe they are just random people off the street.

Anyway, here's the link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/4138095.stm

There are comments from readers which I haven't read yet.
