--This is an email I got from him regarding American Religious History Week. I am not pleased at all.
Thank you for contacting me to voice your opinion about creating an American Religious History Week. I appreciate your comments and I welcome this opportunity to update you on the status of this legislation.
As you may know, Congressman Randy Forbes of Virginia introduced a resolution that seeks to designate the first week of May as American Religious History Week. The goal of this resolution is to affirm the rich spiritual and diverse religious history of our nation's founding. It also aims to foster an appreciation of America's history and religious faith. Concerns have been raised, however, that this resolution may unfairly distort American history by making exaggerated or misleading statements about religious liberty.
Shortly after its introduction, H. Res. 888 was referred to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. While I am not a member of this committee, please know that I will keep your views in mind if this resolution comes before the full House of Representatives for a vote.
Thanks again for taking the time to share your views with me. I need your input to make the best decisions possible, so please stay in touch!
Sincerely,
Brad Ellsworth
--And then there was the fucking HR 847 bullshit, that he of course voted for.
Thank you for contacting me with your views on the H. Res. 847, a resolution recognizing the importance of Christmas and the Christian faith. I appreciate your comments, and I welcome this opportunity to provide you with an update on this legislation.
Congressman King of Iowa introduced H.Res.847 in December. The resolution recognizes Christianity as one of the great faiths of the world and acknowledges the positive impact Christianity has had on the founding of the United States and the western world. The resolution also condemns bigotry and the persecution of Christians. I am pleased to report the resolution was passed, with my vote, on December 11, 2007 by a vote of 372-9. During the Christmas season, it is important to reflect on the positive contribution of the Christian faith towards making this country a compassionate and caring society for all of its citizens.
Thanks again for taking the time to share your views with me. I need your input to make the best decisions possible, so please stay in touch!
Sincerely,
Brad Ellsworth

1. hey, at least you don't live in Forbes' district |

I can't wait for redistricting, so we can get a competitive election against the christofascist. Our state senator was also the one who tried to pass a law requiring all women to register any miscarriage within 12 hrs. and make all abortions, even in the case of ectopic pregnancies, illegal.
SE Virginia Xians are a special kind of crazy.
