Wired Blog: Logo Comparison: Is Apple An Atheist Cult?
http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2008/02/logo-comparison.html

The best conspiracy theory posted to the comments wins a cheap iPod knockoff from China.

Here, for your amusement and delectation, is the Genius Bar logo alongside the American Atheists' logo. Discuss!

What is the Genius Bar?
The Genius Bar is the place to go for advice, insight, and hands-on technical support for your ontological or existential despair. Consultation at the Genius Bar works by reservation only.

Who works at the Genius Bar?
Mac Geniuses — selected by Apple — are the most knowledgeable Mac people. Trained at Apple’s California headquarters, the Geniuses have broad expertise and know virtually all there is to know about your ontological or existential despair.

Why visit the Genius Bar?
Mac Geniuses provide face-to-face tips and advice, answer your questions, and do repairs when necessary. You might be wondering how to go transhuman, how to upload your conscioussness to your iPod, or how to update your reality. Mac Geniuses are there to help with your ontological or existential despair.

1. There may be something to that..
Two Apples and two atheists in our house

Of course, AA also looks to have borrowed part of their logo from McDonalds, who we all know is run by the jewish faction of the Illuminati. Don't ask what's in that free coffee on Mondays...

3. As I pointed out in that thread
Look at what their OS kernel is called:

elided:~ uname -s
Darwin

Darwin, father of godless evilution! And look at Hexley, the mascot of the OS:

He's clearly one of Satan's minions, and we all know atheists are secretly Satanists. According to Wikipedia (I didn't know this bit), the name was a mistake: he was meant to be named after Thomas Henry Huxley, "a 19th century English biologist who was a well-known champion of Charles Darwin's theory of evolution".

Darwin owes a lot to the BSD operating system, so it's no accident that Hexley is similar to Chuck, the BSD logo:

Wearing a BSD shirt can land you in trouble in Texas, as told in Linda Branagan's famous true story:

http://www.milk.com/true-stories/unix_for_the_masses.html

"Does the government use these devil computers?"

4. Atheist Cult = oxymoron.
Edited on Sun Feb-24-08 07:28 PM by and-justice-for-all
Cult: 1. a particular system of religious worship, esp. with reference to its rites and ceremonies.
2. a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader.
3. the members of such a religion or sect.

Atheist: 1. a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings.
Gk áthe(os) godless

And if Apple is primarily operated by Atheist, then good for them.

5. I have been looking for a tasteful rendition of the atomic symbol...
in gold, to wear around my neck, like a cross, for the
LONGEST time....

I think it would be SO cool.

6. Uh oh. I guess I better save up and buy an Apple.
I wouldn't want to anger our cult leader, the Reverend Steve Jobs.
