1. Fascinating!

The information contained in the excerpt was an eye opener for me, and it deepened my conviction that organized religion is not only stupid, but evil.

I wouldn't have lasted very long back then, I can tell ya that.

2. I tried to find some positive aspects in the interview

but it was a difficult task. One thing is certain, politics and religion have been a little too closely linked for my taste throughout our history.

One thing I found interesting was the role of Evangelicals in the early days. That they actually wanted less govt/ religion interaction as opposed to the Evangelicals of today.
