FUCK ME!! I think I just won a battle of ideals with the local paper and its forum!!
I have been having some issues with the local paper and its neglect of the nontheist in the community. So, I have been talking with the moderator about it and this is what happened!!! I GOT A ATHEIST/AGNOSTICS spot on the forum!!!! Read the emails from the bottom up..If you feel compelled to send them a thank you email, please do so. I would appreciate it. shaun.hussey@tribstar.com

Hello Shaun,
This request is by no means to be spiteful. I am well aware that they will indeed through a hissy fit and post in the Atheist/Agnostics forum, but it is nothing that I have not already heard before. It would also be a place to discuss Science and such.
I do try to refrain from posting/commenting in the Religion forum. I have, in one discussion called 'Government says bible is hate.' as I am sure you have seen. Beyond that, with the ignore feature, I do not think I will have any new issue. But I will predict who will be the childish ones, I do not think it will be the nontheist.
Very simply there are nontheist in this community. Decent, working, tax payers that contribute to the community too and they/we deserve to have a place in the local papers forum just as much as the theist do. I would rather have our own spot to discuss our point of view rather than getting into a war of words in the religious forum all the time.
Regards,
Rob

Hi Rob,
I received the request you also put through to the general inquiries form. I have not forgotten or have completely decided.
If I do place that area I hope you realize that you will still have posts that deal with religion in a theist manner. As most religious people are taught to do they will post in their discussing their beliefs to get their message out. Generally I try to stay out of it all together (even more so than the rest of the forum).
Frankly, adding another forum area does certainly mean more work (and reading more posts is not the first thing on my list) so right now that is another concern for me.
I'm still debating the issue and will come to a decision soon.
I just didn't want you to think I had forgotten.
Thanks for participating on the forums!
Cheers!
