Religion not always best for politics
I found this is the papers Readers Forum/Opinion, which they publish in the paper.

"Religion not always best for politics

If we could keep religion out of politics everybody would be happier.

For instance: Mary got pregnant and told her boyfriend that God did it. Joseph bought it. Evidently, not everyone did. That’s why they were on the run when Jesus was born. Who wants to get stoned to death just for having sex?

And God told Abraham to kill his own son. To please God, he was going to do it. What kind of god would be pleased with a man who killed his own son?

But then God told Abraham he didn’t have to kill him after all. It’s the thought that counts.

There are more religious fairy tales just as silly. Other religions are just as silly.

The point is I am sick to death of religious people trying to run our country and/or people wanting to choose our leaders based on what some religious idiot said.

Come on people. Don’t be so shallow."
