My partner's ex was a hard-core fundie. She left him for her married doctoral adviser (who, not that it matters, was Jewish). The first thing my partner did before we moved in together was quiz me repeatedly about religion. I thought there might be something wrong with him, since I'm from the west coast and even our freaky-deaks aren't that freaky. But nope, turns out he just had the red-state blues!
