Sitting on the couch this past weekend with a friend, who happens also to be atheist (and republican though I'm not sure why I mention that :) ) discussing religion. We both lost our fathers in the past few months which is kinda how we got on the topic.
At one point we got to the idea that we didn't care so much what other people thought or did as long as what they did didn't affect us.
"I don't care if you sit there and pick the cheese out of your toes. Doesn't affect me," says my friend.
"As long as you don't get any on me," I said.
So there we have it, religion is like toe cheese! If you want to play with it that's fine with me just don't get any of yours on me. ;)

And paradoxically, it's what makes so many of their posts hilarious.
I entertained myself recently with one of those long, breathless threads on how the Alignment Of The Planets is ushering in a new Age Of Aquarius. And after the astrologers, naturally the other Seers and Prophets weighed in agreeing with them.
The last time these chowderheads were doing that, they didn't get the Age Of Aquarius. They got the Age Of Nixon.
I'm pretty sure you could make a lot of money by reading the various Woo-Woo Predictions, then betting on exactly the opposite...
