(Unintentionally) funny radio commercial |

Some sort of big Home-Porn thing is going on in L.A. this weekend. You know, those expos where they show off furniture, appliances, etc.
One radio station is running ads for this shindig about every 15 minutes.
I almost fell off the chair when they advertised this bit:
"AND don't miss the free class in 'Mistakes To Avoid With Feng Shui!!!' Conducted by instructor, consultant AND...author...(name of asshat that I forgot)..."
You already know what I'm going to say. The biggest mistake you can make with Feng Shui is to pay any attention to that nonsense in the first damn place.
The Penn & Teller "Bullshit!" episode on Feng Shui was one of the best shows they did.
They had 3 Feng Shui "experts" run their mouths about how this "ancient science" worked. Then all 3 did a Feng Shui exercise on the same house. Naturally, all 3 thought they were the only consultant hired.
All 3 came up with completely different ideas about maximizing the flow of chi in the place. Or whatever it is they do. Yep, really scientific.
After one consultant finished, the hidden camera caught him saying: "This place STILL looks like shit!"

Were you the one who posted the funny thread about Feng Shui in the Skeptics group a while back?

If I did, all you probably missed was me repeating myself about the "Bullshit" show.
I really don't need to pay hundreds of dollars an hour for some consultant to tell me: "You'll feel better if your living space is organized." I KNOW that. All I need is the will to clean it up and organize it, which I will find for free. One of these days.

4. I already found out how liberating |

it was when I lost everything in my divorce. Using a cardboard box as a dinner table is wonderfully minimalist. When you're done, no dishes to worry about, just throw everything in the trash!
