1. Me too!
But the second to last picture was not from the Senate, but from the place where John and Teresa should be living.

3. Ugh -- he got stuck sitting next to Felix the Racist
Which is worse -- sitting next to the Chimp or Barfbag? Bush is kind of stinky, isn't he? Plus with those fart stories -- YUCK. OTOH, Allen is a bully and a bigot. Poor JK, sitting amongst all of those sorry excuses for human beings.

4. "Do you believe this lineup?"
If I knew more about baseball, I'd make a joke. But I bet that's what he was thinking, worse lineup than the 19__ somthinorothers.

8. True enough--
But it was a Senatorial duty to go, so I figured it counts. :)

5. Ginny, that was awesomely great!
Ahm, I miss the Senate too! (I would even take a Fisheries hearing right about now.) We have four more weeks of the Senate until they adjourn for the year. (Although, they will probably come back in Dec, especially if the Dems take one or both Houses, in order to loose more mischief upon the land.)

I love that last pic. Definitley not a Fisheries Hearing look.

BTW, the vote on the Bolton confirmation is next Thursday in Foreign Relations. It should be a humdinger. (Yeah, that's a 'I can't believe we are even debating if this lunatic should be confirmed' look.)

Thanks Ginny. Great thread! Ahm, I miss the Senate too! I want to see/hear what happens when Sen K passes Sen. L in the hallways. Will it be dirty looks and bad remarls coughed into the hands or just people pretending the other isn't there? (Hey, didn't you used to be a Democrat? I never 'cut and ran' from the Democrat Party, they cut n run from me.)

I wonder how the other Senators will greet the radioactive Sen. Allen. (Little Jeffy Sessions will probably have a 'Coming out' party for George. "Hey George, don't worry about it. After all, at least it didn't happen in Davos, hahahahha!" Secretly, he wishes he were tall, I just know it. Jeffy is a creepy little twerp.)

Next week could be the best gossippy Senate week ever. (Even if there are Fisheries hearings.) This could be great fun, unless you happen to actually work there.

6. I love that pic with Felix and Icky.
Sen Kerry looks like the only one in the room who has a clue.
Nice pics. I miss the Senate, too. Where else but C-Span can you turn on your TV and see a room almost half full of bright, dedicated men and women fighting for democracy?

rejects from "Jeopardy: Celebrity Edition" (Anybody remember that skit from SNL?)

George Allen would be Sean Connery-like.

Barfie: Alex, you puff, I'll take "Things any idiot should know" for $500,000 in PAC Money.

Alex T: Sen. Allen, the category is only worth $2000. That, for the one millionth time, is the limit on the category.

Barfie: Then why the hell am I here? I don't even burp for less than $100,000, and that's only if I like you. Okay, what's the question you book-loving freak?

Alex T: People running for the Senate should not get their picture taken with:
A. Known racists or
B. A Girl Scout who just saved a drowning puppy.

Barfie: Ahm, the Girl Scout. Can't trust those cookies selling little be-yatches. Might be trying to test your authority. Make you feel like less of a cowboy and might make your hat sag a bit, if you know what I mean.

Alex T: Wrong, Senator Allen, wrong, wrong, wrong. You avoid the known racist and get your picture taken with the Girl Scout. You are now at negative $5 million. You are the worst Jeopardy player in history, you big bag of barf.

Sigh!

And I can totally picture some of our more clueless Senators in that game.

Dorgan was on Schultz today, who asked him how the remaining days of the Senate would be this year, and he answered, "it will be 'stand-down' ". The Gopers want to get their vulnerable people out on the stump, so there won't be much going on in the Senate. They will just run out the clock.

Watching the Sundance program, "The Hill" tonight about the Soc.Security debate back in Spring '05--*'s big project for the second term: hahahahaha!!
The staffer said that when the people think about a fix for Social Security, they trust the party that invented it in the first place, so the Repubs will fail--and so they did.

not sure when and what time the first pic was taken, but the scene is just beautiful.

and the rest with JK are some of my favorites. the one with the Republicans show just what losers they are compared to him.

here is another closer up pic with Jack Reed. JK looks so cute :

12. I know what you mean
There a very stable comforting feel that things could be turned around - although not easily. There's just a steadiness, a sense of honesty and integrity along with an overwhelming sense that he fully understands the seriousness of where we are. All leading to a feeling that he could be trusted as a leader.
