C-Span to cover the Faneuil Hall speech Sunday on RTWH |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-06-06 09:27 PM by TayTay
on Sunday night at 6:30 and 9:30 pm. (No mention if they intend to cover this live on Sat. However, it is up on their new website www.campaignnetwork.org in the lower right corner.)
I will not dress like a blueberry, I promise. (I also won't be seen. I am directly below the camera and thus can't be seen by it. Whew!)
From the website: Sunday, September 10 Sen. John Kerry on Homeland Security from Faneil Hall, Boston On C-SPAN at 6:30pm/9:30pm ET
Hey GV, you rock!

1. Cool - judging from today's comments |
|
This should be great. (I realize this will likely be a very serious speech - more like the Georgetown Iraq one than today's Rumsfeld needs to go speech or the dissent one. I would guess it will be a very serious policy speech by a very serious smart guy. Likely it will be too smart for those who would want to get the education level score - Does this mean they would prefer Allen's syntax?)

3. Ahm, I think it will be a lot like the dissent speech |
|
only a bit angrier. This topic touches on Admin incompetence that has gotten people killed and maimed in what Sen. Kerry called 'immoral actions.' Ahm, he used that specific word a few times today, each time with emphasis and with specific purpose.
The actions are immoral. That is, as they say around here, a whole 'nuther kettle of fish. I would expect something quite harsh. Seriously, using that word 'immoral' is very, very serious and there is no going back from that. I expect a speech with a lot of things that should be done to make the country safer from actual terrorist threats, but also a lot about the failed promises of this Admin and the cost. (I have heard Sen. Kerry use that phrase in specific situations over the years and he never says that lightly, ever. Calling something immoral is, ahm, the crossing of the Rubicon. You don't go back from that.)

I was thinking of it as laying out what he thinks needs to be done - forgetting the parallel purpose of damning the administration's bad actions. You are right that Senator Kerry doesn't use words like immoral lightly or for dramatic affect.
