OK...here are some more PartyBuilder instructions |
|
For everyone that's joined the PartyBuilder network on the DNC website, I thought I'd share a couple tips that I figured out messing around last night and this morning. The beginning of this will be a repeat of part of the thread from yesterday.
First, if you haven't joined yet and want to, just go to dnc.org or democrats.org and log in if you have an account (if you had an account before they kept it) or create a new account if you haven't. When you sign up you can use your real name, because you have the option of using a screen name for posting online.
Once you create an account, go into the Groups tab and then the Candidates and Campaigns category. They also put this group in the "Presidential" subcategory. You'll find a group named John Kerry Supporters: A Right and a Responsibility to Speak Out. Right now, I have the group public, but events and listservs have to be approved by me. Anyone can post a blog entry there without my approval, but I think I can delete posts if we get any freepers, just like a moderator on DU.
How to post a blog entry .... At the top of the PartyBuilder page you'll see a tab called blog. Everyone has to create their own blog, so all your entries are connected to you. But when you go to post the blog entry, you choose the group(s) you want to post to.
Finally, you might consider adding your favorite Kerrycrats, friends and family as "friends" to you network. If the person you want to add as a friend is registered then you can open their profile from the Find People tab or from the listing of group members. If they are not yet registered, you can invite them by going to My Friends and looking for the Friends Request box, where you will find a link to invite new friends. The Friends Request box is also where you'll approve or deny other people who have requested being friends with you.
Well...that's more than enough for now. More stuff on there I still need to figure out: petitions, letters, events and fundraising
sheeshhh....this is a full-time job.

But it's not as intuitive over there--it will take a little figuring out. But I agree--more positive support for JK on the net is a good thing.
