Seems like my nana is on her last legs. She's dying guys. Maybe you guys could send prayers of some sort or whatever. She's 92 years old and a great great grandmother, and a great person all around.

She was so proud to have a letter from President Clinton and Mrs. Clinton for her lifelong contribuations to the party, she repeated herself telling us that but I was so proud.

3. how long has she been a Democrat ?
it's great the Clinton's acknowledged her work for the party. i know they get attacked on DU a lot but i always thought both the Clinton's were good people and want the best for everyone and thankful to others. there might be disagreements but they aren't bad people.

It's always hard to lose somebody, no matter how old they are. The pain from just missing somebody is always the same. I'll say prayers for her, and for comfort for you and your family too.

I can't imagine the world without her. She's been around since the election of Wilson politically speaking, became a mother in Roosevelt years, a grandmother in the Eisenhower years, and a great grandmother in the Carter years I believe, and now is a great great grandmother. Its a long story about how I can have a first cousin who is old enough to be my father and who is old enough to be a grandfather to his youngest cousin, my youngest brother.

praying for her and your family (in my Pagan way, hope that's alright).

What an amazing, rich life story she has. She must be so proud of you, and you of her.

Donating their bodies to science is a wonderful thing...but maybe there should be a memorial garden, a spot where you can go and reflect on them and associate with visiting them even if it's not a traditional grave...plant trees, maybe? Just a suggestion.

30. JohnKleeb, you don't know me & I hope I'm not out of line passing this ...
on to you. But I feel compelled to reach out to you in this most tender & private time of your life. If it's not welcome, I'll ask admin to delete it, what helps me may not feel comfortable or appropriate to another.

Another suggestion that has warmed me many times after my 93 yr old grandfather left us last year ... I decided to be my grandparent's scribe during their end times. So much life lived, memories of so much in our world's history (just to think, they went from cropsharing & riding to town in w/horses & wagons to space flight). They were walking pieces of time & neither they or I could bear to see those pages erased forever. I wrote down their musings & memories (even if I'd heard them before, new pieces flow from the old), taped them when they talked (took old papa a shorter time to get used to that then I thought it would - little ham, he was!). Bringing out their old photos always inspired more & more lore I hadn't heard before. It was a good way to draw them close, both before & after. I miss them painfully, but w/time, this record ... this bit of living history to add to & pass on ... it warms me in the nights that I would hold them one more time. Even if the time is near, put it on paper. Harvest the memories of the family & add to your own. It did & does help me, I'm still adding to their pages.
I know it hurts, my unmet friend. Just know, as long as you have her memories & stories in you ... you still have a part of her. It will hurt for a long time, you don't stop that. But, w/time it will be a softer, warmer pain as some little, everyday thing happens to reminds you of something funny or silly that made you chuckle. I swear, it will let you feel her there, hand on your shoulder, loving you. That love doesn't go away, it grows & holds you up in your hard times.
I wish you & your 'Rose' peace & an easy passing.

46. My family is pretty big on both sides but not huge, we are just very
close and most of us live within waking distance of each other. My family has always been there for each other in good times and bad and I can always depend on them for emotional support. We have had our share of tragedy and it has only served to bring us much closer. I don't know if that is a Catholic trait or just something I got lucky enough to experience. I have had many friends tell me they have never seen a family like mine but I'm sure there are lots of others out there.

Stay close to your family JK, they need you every bit as much as you need them right now. I will pray that you all find peace and happy memories of your Nana and better times.
