Is he the long-awaited whistleblower?? I apologize for not being up-to-date on the lawsuits.

2. Sounds like a forensic scientist type who saw the ballots. |
|
Haven't completely read it myself - the type is difficult for me.

3. Not quite the whistleblower |
|
but reading through the document, this person actually requested paperwork, has photocopies, and sworn statements of people who have observed ballot tampering. Am on number 12 now.

5. This guy did a TON of work for Arnebeck & Co |
|
He is a scientist with a statistics background and expertise in statistical anomaly identification. He did a major statistical analysis at the precinct level for Arnebeck's lawsuit in '04. He was the person who uncovered precincts (all Repub.) in Ohio with >100% turnout, precincts with single-digit % turnout in Dem districts, suspicious voter registrations, etc. Really really fishy but "circumstantial" stuff (with the exception of the 100%+ turnout numbers). If he's got hold of the ballots themselves and has had forensics experts look at them, GOOD FOR HIM.
I have gone HOME now and there are probably no more than 1 or 2 people left -- lots of MD voters who wanted to make the polls and heard about the e-voting crap that went on there today -- but if the office does not have this tomorrow morning, I will do something about that.

7. blm: isn't this the same type of research as what Freeman did? |
|
It is statistical support for an anomoly in the data. Something indicates that the voting patterns are wrong because things that should hav had similar votes were, statistically speaking, a bit out of whack.
This affadavit is in support of not destroying the ballots, which is a good idea. But it is not a smoking gun on anything more than a statistical study. We already knew this right? The statistical research dates back to late Nov of '04. Why is this news?

9. But that is the same thing as what we knew before |
|
The allegations that someone put stickers over Kerry ovals in certain Ohio counties is very old. This seems to be the basis for a legal action to not destroy that ballot in favor of an investigation into how the Ohio race was done. But it doesn't have any new 'smoking guns' in it that I can see.
The statistical stuff is interesting, but it is also very, very hard to decipher. This is circumstantial and not definitive evidence and it is of almost no value in bringing this issue to public attention. (It's too complicated for the media to report on and too complicated for the kind of 'word of mouth' spreading of information that grassroots people can do.)
We should preserve those ballots. But preserving ballots is not proof of fraud. I am very glad that this gentlemanhas brought his expertise to the fore to say we should investigate this. However, until Ohio changes hands politically, that is all it can be and no one, including Sen. Kerry, can change that. The climate in Ohio must change. Right now, the entire political structure of the state is against any detailed examination of the '04 race. And, if and when Ohio changes hands this fall, it is unlikely that the first priority of a new government will be examination of old races. That is just a political truth. There will be a push to make registration easier and erase some of the really terrible things that Blackwell tried to do, but don't get your hopes up about a detailed examination into the '04 vote. I sincerely doubt it will happen. (It will be about 'new business,' not examining an old and very settled vote.)

10. The heads up for Kerry is to be alert about the circumstances. |

I am well aware that all of his fight must go towards the FUTURE elections and fighting FUTURE fraud in Nov. and 2008. But, knowing exactly what happened in 2004 is the best way to prevent future fraud.
If there is PHYSICAL evidence of tampering, it's good for a black eye to the GOP, and it looks like the Cincinnati paper IS giving the issue coverage.
