John Kerry campaigns in Iowa City for Loebsack
Good article from Iowa

Sen. John Kerry had his assessment of the Iowa-Iowa State rivalry ready as he met with media and football fans at a tailgate party Saturday morning.

“I know Iowa is ahead in the rivalry,” he said before Iowa defeated Iowa State 27-17 at nearby Kinnick Stadium. “It’s a big rivalry, second only to congressional Republicans against prosecutors.”

2. Oh, this was really nice!
Flip Arkulary, 21, a UI senior in music business and religious studies from Duluth, Minn., said being able to meet political figures such as Kerry was one of the good things about living in Iowa. He said he was hopeful Kerry would decide to run for president again.

“I think he might go down as an Adlai Stevenson, but I hope he wins,” Arkulary said.

Nick Wagner, a Hawkeye fan from Des Moines, said Loebsack could only benefit from Kerry’s appearance.

“Any time you can get somebody like John Kerry to come in and talk, that’s a great thing,” he said. “When you got the backing of a senator, that’s huge.”

You mean all these college kids were excited about seeing a Senator from Massachusetts? (Ahm, I am rather humbled by this.) Gee, I wonder if it's the strong voice on Iraq and the strong voice saying what we really need to be doing to make America safer from a terrorist threat?

Huh! Iowa appreciates the taller Senator from Mass. (Now, if only that jerkoff I did a vis with today would actually listen to what his own friggin Senator is actually saying, sigh. Why is the grass or, for that matter, always better looking in the neighbor's yard. I think Kerry is too a strong voice, sigh)

3. Great positive article! I especially like the line about excitement.
I am going to save this one for my scrape book.

"It’s tremendous, the excitement he generates for me,” Loebsack said of Kerry. “I’m so thankful that he came in for me.”

4. Thanks for posting.
Great article. I don't know what it is, but Kerry seems to generate much more excitement among people my age. Keep it up, John!
