He needs to look in the mirror. i always liked his columns - they were intersting, funny and always well written. I think he started as a theatre critic. The problem in 2004 is that he was more interested in making clever little comments, often picking up every RW JK meme - but in a way that looked semi-innocuous. He was not as bad as Maureen Dowd - but he wasn't good. The biggest problem is that he continued this on an at least once a month basis after the election. (He can't mention Kerry - without mentioning winsurfing, looking French, rich, was swiftboated (usually adding that he didn't fight back - now that the theme of the book is the media manipulation, will he admit that he and others helped - just to get laughs or make a clever point.)
