I saw Lautenberg in NJ

Lautenberg was sceduled to come about 1 hour into the event, so I spent lots of time speaking to MC Democrats. Some observations, among the group of women from further north in the state that I spoke to there was not much enthusiasm for Hillary ("shrill" was mentioned and in this Democratic group, I was surprised that Clinton was seen as sleasy and unprincipled - but successful.)

Kerry was seen as principled, right on the issues, but they did think he ran a bad campaign. I answered with the same laundry list of 1992/2004 differences we've all posted. I think I was able to give them something to think about. (The best comment was if Kerry were not as good a man as he seems, Teresa Heinz would never have married him. A comment that explains why the Republicans attacked her as no previous Wife ever was attacked.)

The only other candidates mentioned by anyone were - Gore (about the same as Kerry) and Warner (woman admitted knowing near nothing about him), and Obama (too bad he's not ready). Interesting that a group of 6 woman, ranging from about 30 to 60, no mention of Edwards
