Great rallying cry for dems -
I wish the party could say it as well.
http://vastleft.blogspot.com/2006/10/im-still-standing.html

...I, for one, am proud to vote for the likes of Al Gore, John Kerry, and Ted Kennedy.

If they are something short of gods, they are men who truly want to make the world a better place...

...The Democrats are the party of conscience. The vast majority stood up to last week's awful bill, despite a national mood where they're in constant danger of being run out of town on a rail for being "soft on terror" if they stop short of personally drawing and quartering ever Muslim they encounter.

These times are fucked up, and Democrats are imperfect, but they are so massively more sane and humane than the alternative, it makes me sick to hear talk of shrugging our shoulders and not voting.

You can be sure that every dickwad who uses his vote to make sure gays can't marry and that the disenfranchised don't get a helping hand will show up at the polls. They always do.

So, how about us?

1. We all do need to adopt this attitude. Democrats have so much to offer
America and the American people. They are passionate. When was the last time you actually heard a passionate Repub talking about an issue? They all mostly seem to parrot one another.

3. thanks!
:-)

He's a DU'er and has been putting up some absolutely great posts lately. This is another one I loved, on the torture bill: The terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. I don't know if you're familiar with that kids' book, but it was one of my kids' favorites.

4. My kids and I loved that one enough
that I took it to work at a point that there were some trying polics going on. My co-workers loved it. My kids really thought it described life as they knew it.
