Oh, I feel like SUCH a bitch!
Not directly Kerry-related, except in that I suspect I know who my '08 guy is, but I'm venting. I just barely held off from starting a Hissy Pissy Copy Editor thread in the Campaign 2006 & 2008 forum and whipping out the Blue State Red Pen!

It was such a bitchy post I have to share it here:

Folks, please. You know who you are.

It's

H-I-L-L-A-R-Y C-L-I-N-T-O-N
Two Ls.

B-A-R-A-C-K O-B-A-M-A
One R; please note C.

M-A-R-Y L-A-N-D-R-I-E-U
Don't fuck with the French.

E-V-A-N B-A-Y-H
No, I don't know why it's spelled that way either, but it is. Cope.

See? Calling up all these folks' senate.gov pages to double-check took me 5 minutes--on dialup.

You'll look a little more serious promoting all your bizarro-world '08 fantasy-football picks if you just spell their damn names right.

***

Anyone else got any bitchy held-back posts to share?

1. lol
Can't think of anything off the top of my head, which is very unusual. But that's been bugging me lately too. How the hell do you bitch about the Democratic Party when you aren't even aware enough to spell a name right?

2. And then there are the people who don't get the name order right...
I especially like when people write, "I am big fan of Obama Barack..."

7. LOL
I don't see why it's such a hurdle for some people. But Illinois was/is the home of Reps. Rostenkowski and Schakowsky and Gov. Blagojevich (now that's a fun one to watch out-of-staters try to spell or pronounce), so Sen. Obama's name wouldn't strike us as particularly challenging....

Yours,
Windlewithy

9. My dad still can't pronounce "Blagojevich"
It always comes out "Blagovich" or something mumbled. It's so funny hearing him say it.

3. I don't think it's bitchy at all.
Well, maybe a little - but in a way I admire. Misspelling someone's name is a sort of disrespect.

I (virtually) bite my cyber tongue at least a dozen times a day - freepers. Hit-and-run commenters on my or my friends' blogs. I try not to give them the satisfaction of a response, but sometimes I am weak. }(

14. New Hampshire had a good one
And a Democrat to boot.

Rep. Dick Swett.

Not difficult to pronouce. Difficult to pronouce without laughing. Why some people go with the nickname instead of the full name, I'll never know.

My husband hears me laughing at the computer from the next room, and thinks I'm looney! (I think he's a bit jealous of the fun I have on this board!)

16. Should change his name quick.
How could he survive all those years of ribbing with a name like that? He has the smarts to get himself elected, but not change the name? Maybe he won because of his name. It's memorable and catchy.

the former Hungarian Nazi fighter, now RMM of international relations.
