No surprise there. Besides the obvious advantages for the country, this would also help Kerry tremendously. If he stays in the Senate, he can be in a major role in terms of both investigations and initiating legislation if Democrats become the majority party. If he leaves the Senate for the White House, two years in the majority will still improve his resume.
