Looking for a few good Kerrycrats!

In anticipation of another Kerry run for President, there is a group forming and volunteers are needed, particularly in battleground states. Nothing is going to happen until after the midterm elections and until Senator Kerry announces (which we all hope he decides to do). If all goes well, this will probably get underway in January. Tonight I met with the organizer of this group to get a sense of what this will be all about. He was a former town chair for Kerry '04 and knows how to go about setting up this type of netroots organization.

This group will be a hands-on version of what we Kerrycrats do here online: get the Kerry message out. There will be a Web presence, but the organization is going to focus heavily on signs, literature, ads, fundraisers etc. The group is being formed in NH, but there will also be a national focus, especially in battleground states. Any Gung Ho organizers who can rally a small group of troops in your area will be in high demand.

The way this is going to work is that you can devote as much time to the effort as you have. If you want to devote full-time effort, there may be opportunities for regional organizers depending on the presence in your state/area. If you have only a few hours, that's fine too. The way it was explained to me is that the only requirement of each member is that you recruit one other member and watch over that member until they bring their one member on board. After your member has recruited one person, you don't have to do any further recruiting unless you really want to.
