Ouch!
I guess that EE's love is not reserved to the Kerrys.

I have no lost love for Hillary, but this is a stupid thing to say.

Edwards: I'm More Joyful Than Clinton
Oct 20 2:41 PM US/Eastern

Elizabeth Edwards, wife of White House hopeful John Edwards, says her choices in life have made her happier than Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton _ a possible Edwards' rival for the Democratic nomination.

"She and I are from the same generation. We both went to law school and married other lawyers, but after that we made other choices. I think my choices have made me happier. I think I'm more joyful than she is," Elizabeth Edwards said Thursday.

2. How the HELL does she know that?
Like you Mass, I have no great love of Hillary Clinton, but how can anyone make a statement like this? How can any of us judge the life and feelings of another person? (I don't care how well we THINK we know them.) This is just stupid. I don't think I've ever lost my respect for someone as quickly as I've lost my respect for Elizabeth Edwards and that's sad.

3. My feeling about all this is to let it go. I'm not quite sure that the
Edwards could survive what the ClintonTeam will try to do to them. Sure they're focusing on taking Kerry out early so Hillary won't have to debate him, but wait till they focus on Edwards.

Kerry has the steel in him to resist Clinton manipulations. I guess when you've had machinegun fire and shoulder rockets trained on you nearly every day for months, the Bush or Clinton gauntlet isn't as terrirfying.

6. The Clintons are wrapping it up right now
Seriously. If they get hold of the DNC in November, they control the money and the message and it's pretty much all over from there.

8. Dean people have seen this coming just as long as we have.
Hang TOGETHER or hang separately. Our goal is to get to the debates, and that is where we win - no doubt about it.

11. Control the message
If we let Hillary have all the mechanisms to control the Dem message, and the power over all the money to influence the entire party, what's left to debate?

She's making a major move right now. If we can win this money issue, that'll show them it's not going to be the walk-over they think it is.

supporters will, either.

I noticed a number of prominent bloggers didn't touch the story, and actually came out chiding Hillary for hording. Atrios at Eschaton for one...and he's very influential with other bloggers for his clearheaded thinking.

Thinking more about the Edwards situation, though, I could see the Clinton folks schmoozing the Edwards into focusing attacks on Kerry, before they turn and slice and dice them. Maybe dangle the VP spot at him. They are capable of just about anything. After all the covering up for Bush1 all these years, now I "get" the Clintons.

14. but Dean has already been pressured with the loan thing
it's not about totally giving in. but little things they will get out of you. the problem is THEY have the power to do this in the first place.

the Edwards thing makes no sense as she is being critical of HIllary here. it has the same tone as her criticisms of Teresa. and seems pointed at their effort to try to differentiate by making them out to be some regular people.

15. I agree with the EE part. I just think they better watch their backs
because Clintons have no problem being nicey-nice to their face, using them to try and take out Kerry then kick them to the curb.

I just don't wish to see it go down like that for the Dem party or their family.

More of that we're just plain folks garbage. Just all around tacky. And I think she worked until her son died, so I don't know where she gets off with this milk and cookies mother image either. Just... wow.

campaigning, every news report!

Let's see how many people will blame this direct quote on the media! The media loves to run with silly comments, even if means using parts of the quote out of context. Direct quotes are hard to refute, unless the writer made it up (it has happened!). They've been warned, but like to pretend that other people are using the media as an excuse. After the BS treatment of THK, may they be plagued!

My everything is Kerry's, fault post:

13. What a stupid comment
Truly joyful people don't have to point it out. It shows. And people with real joy know that joy is not something you can measure. It's part of who you become as a person.

What a really dumb comment. :(
