Nearly 40 diaries about Kerry on dailykos today, majority positive |
|
I still don't know if this is a win, lose, or draw in general, but the netroots certainly liked what they saw today. The diary that showed his original press release got nearly 600 recommends. The netroots community on the Left had Kerry's back today; moreover, they were impressed with him hitting back hard. I think a lot of people like him. His detractors on the liberal side were drowned out today.

1. I think it shows a little progress. |

Today wasn't a great day, but every time I see people defending JK, who aren't us, and who might not have a year ago, I'm glad JK is who we is, and that we do what we do.

2. Agree it was a very up and down, and quite frankly, emotional day |
|
Injustice seemed to be everywhere, yet he fought back hard. That diary about the family who lost a loved one, for which Kerry was there for, really got to me. What they were saying about him is the opposite of who he is. Anyway, Andrew Sullivan is receiving Dissent on his blog big time -- he just printed a letter about somebody who almost joined the armed services because he needed the money. That's not really the point, but still -- showing dissent against Andrew's ridiculous demand that Kerry apologize means we're even making progress on HIS blog.

3. CNN was a real disappointment today. They were gunning for him |
|
and Andrew Sullivan called for him to apologize saying it was his ego that got in the way of doing the right thing-even if he was misquoted. The blogs were a positive, but the MSM press I watched today took this as an opportunity to continue Rove's dirty work. It also brought out the pundits who claim to be democratic, but obviously took advantage of an opportunity to trash him. Oh,he may not have said what the Republicans claim he said, but his comments against Bush were elitist and would rally people around Bush. Or, Democratic insiders are outraged that he just didn't apologize and fade away. Oh, and this one was the best, Rove's October surprise, delivered by Kerry. This little ditty was on Anderson 360. Screw them, he is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. It seems to me he will have a pretty thick skin by the time he gets to the White House.

4. The media is still going to be a problem |

He is going to need a strong defense of this and as Mass said, an excellent PR staff.

5. did you hear when Anderson said |

that this will be a distraction, spending a few precious days on all this talk about Bush being stupid about Iraq, when what the Dems really want to focus on is the War in Iraq-- --oh wait--
