Gah, GD's worse today than yesterday! |
|
I don't think I can take much more.
Just an FYI to those who are cheering the GOP's smearjob of Kerry: you are not Democrats. If you are another candidate who is gleefully repeating Tony Snow's bullshit word for word, you are not a Democrat and I would never vote for you even if Satan himself was the Repuke alternative. If you are a whore blogger gunning for JK, you are a pathetic and desperate vulture willing to help the GOP if it means taking down John Kerry. You can all blow me, eat shit, fuck off and die. In that order.
God, if I could say anything to John Kerry right now, it would be: DO NOT GIVE IN. No matter how many cowards and whores pile on, do NOT retreat. In the eternal words of Dr. Seuss, those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I mean that. I am growing beyond disgusted with everyone else in this party besides Kerry and the few who have the integrity to stand by him. Thanks Hill - I officially would never support you for dogcatcher.

Not that it will matter, but at least I'll vote for the person I want in the WH.

8. Pitiful behavior a week before an election. |
|
If she had nothing good to say, she didn't have to comment at all.
I hope JK buries her in the primaries.
I too will write in JK if she's the nominee.

5. He WON'T give in to this shit. |

There is NO intention here of ceding ground to them. They are WRONG and there will be nothing to suggest that they have any credibility or any valid points here. Don't worry one bit about that.

6. they should all just shut up. |

I don't see how this is contributing to party unity right before an election.
We all know that JK has a target on his back and that the GOP hangs on his every word like carrion birds waiting for a kill. Remember the "terrorizing the Iraqis" comment. How are they helping the party when they join in?
While trying to promote themselves, they are hurting the party and showing the left who they really are.

Many of the Democrats were upset with that one too. Though in that case, Kerry was trying to walk a tight rope to explain why the Search and Destroy missions and policing done by Americans is both extraordinarilly dangerous but also invariably leading to anti-American feelings. How could it not when people who know neither your language or culture knocked on your doors. (This came directly from his Vietnam experiences - there was one passage in Tour of Duty where he wrote of a small boy watching them as they inspected the ships - realizing that the kid did not like them. )
So, the gaffe there could be defended. He really moved America's understanding on that - and he was alone as a politician trying.
This one is harder as it was unnecessary - but all of Kerry's tough comments and jokes are out on the edge of what can be said. He is advocating for change. (Hillary had a minor gaffe with "plantation" which was what she wanted to say. She's had few others - because she has said very very little.)
Here, I hope Firespirit is right. That the end result is a minor blowup that ends up with more strong talk on Iraq. There is nothing I see that changes anybody's mind on any issue - even if someone believes that Kerry disparaged the troops, they will not shift on stay the course. I really can't see how it hurts any position or person (other than Kerry unfortuately)
